Tax & Payroll Services for Household Employers Made Simple and Affordable

Breedlove & Associates was formed in 1992 – by household employers for household employers – in order to help families with payroll and tax compliance for their nannies, nurses, chefs, tutors, personal assistants, household managers, gardeners, housekeepers, etc.

We take great pride in being an affordable, full-support "nanny tax" service for busy families – handling all aspects of the federal and state tax requirements while providing expert support and guidance at every step. Over the years, we've eliminated tedious paperwork, maximized tax breaks, minimized legal risk, and generally made life a little easier for more than 11,000 busy families across the United States. That feels really good.

This website is dedicated to continuing that effort by providing general education and assistance on all the financial, legal and HR aspects of employee payroll tax law. Please note that many states and municipalities have special laws and requirements.  Give us a call and we'll walk you through the laws in your area.

We’re happy to help because we’ve been in your shoes – we know how intimidating this stuff is if you don’t do it every day and we’re determined to make it as easy and affordable as possible.

Tax Rebate Information

If you had a household employee in 2007 and paid legally, your employee will automatically receive a tax rebate under the economic stimulus package if he/she has met all of the following conditions: 1) has a valid social security number, 2) earned income between $3,000 and $75,000 ($150,000 if married filing jointly), 3) cannot be claimed as someone else's dependent, and 4) filed a 2007 income tax return.

The tax rebate payment will be up to $600 for individuals or $1,200 for married couples plus up to $300 per child.  The timing of the payments will be made according to the last 2 digits of the main filer's social security number.  Your employee should receive his/her payment by mid-July.

Please note that the rebate can be taken for the 2007 or the 2008 tax year.  So, if your employee does not take advantage of it in the 2007 tax year, he/she will be eligible to take it next year -- assuming employer and employee tax obligations are met in 2008.
