What You Get When You Join Our Service
At Breedlove & Associates, we take pride in eliminating all the work and worry for you by taking care of everything you need as a household employer. Specifically, we handle:
- Tax Preparation & Direct Filing. We handle all state and federal tax preparation requirements. We also direct file the returns with each of the tax agencies and remit the employee and employer taxes on your behalf. Lastly, you'll receive full support anytime you need it -- with unlimited access to our team of tax experts at no extra charge.
- HR & Labor Law Guidance. Most families eventually have questions about things like overtime, unemployment, disability, workers' compensation, health insurance, vacation, paid sick leave, etc. In this area, an ounce of prevention is definitely worth a pound of cure. Big, expensive problems can be easily avoided with a little expert guidance. That's our job -- and, again, we don't charge extra for it.
- Payroll Management. Based on your employee's compensation and elections on Form W-4, we calculate tax withholdings and process payroll each payperiod.
Within payroll management, we provide two service options --Direct Deposit and Assisted Payroll. Here's how each option works:
DIRECT DEPOSIT. With this option, you don't have to write checks and your employee's pay is automatically deposited into her bank account each payday. You and your employee receive detailed paystubs reflecting precise wages and withholdings for the current period as well as year-to-date totals. If there is a variance in pay, you simply notify us and we re-calculate the tax withholdings and process the new amount. Otherwise, your payroll is on cruise control -- you don't have to do anything except make sure your bank account is funded.
ASSISTED PAYROLL. This option supports families who want to process and track payroll on their own. We provide assistance with our proprietary Quarterly Payroll Statement -- a customized spreadsheet which details your employee's Gross Wages, Tax Withholdings, and Net Pay for each payperiod. You write the paychecks and keep track of any variances. At the end of the quarter, we circle back to make sure we capture any and all pay variances you had during the quarter (accurate wage data is critical so we can ensure accurate tax returns).
Service Fees
Option 1: Tax Preparation & Direct Filing + HR & Labor Law Guidance + DIRECT DEPOSIT = $180 per quarter.
OR
Option 2: Tax Preparation & Direct Filing + HR & Labor Law Guidance + ASSISTED PAYROLL = $145 per quarter.

Important Notes About Our Service Fees
- There is no long-term commitment. We operate on a quarter-to-quarter basis and charge our quarterly fee after the work is completed at the end of each calendar quarter.
- In addition to the quarterly fee, we have two other fees: 1) Upon registration, we have a one-time fee of $100 to set up your account, obtain your tax IDs and file your new hire report; 2) At the end of the calendar year, we charge $60 to prepare all your year-end tax documents (W-2, W-3, Schedule H, State Annual Reconciliation).
- If choosing DIRECT DEPOSIT, please note that there is an additional fee of $30 per quarter if you elect to pay your employee Weekly (There is no additional charge for Bi-Weekly, Semi-Monthly or Monthly pay frequencies).
- Fees are for one employee. For additional employees working concurrently, there is a quarterly fee of $50 per additional employee. There is no fee to change employees.
- All of our service options include unlimited access to our team of tax and legal experts so you can always get prompt, professional support and advice any time you need it.

What to Expect After You Register
Step 1. We will confirm receipt and follow up with any questions we may have about your information, your employee’s information, or your payroll instructions. Once we have complete and accurate information, we will get your account set up within 5-7 business days.
Step 2. We will mail your New Client Packet, which will have everything you need to get started:
- Service Agreement with Breedlove & Associates
- Payroll documents for you and each of your employees
- Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form
- A Calendar of Key Activities & Deadlines
- Dependent Care Account Receipt
Step 3. Our payroll team will contact you to make sure your payroll is set up accurately and the transition is smooth.
Step 4. Keep an eye out for mail or email from us. If you receive something from us, it’s important to your tax situation; please read it carefully and respond promptly.
